ABOUT US

Welcome to the page of our family-type Labrador kennel!

We are located in Kyiv, Ukraine.

My name is Yuliia Kazymirenko — I am the owner of the kennel, a breeder and cynologist registered with the Ukrainian Kennel Union, as well as a professional handler and trainer of my dogs. I regularly attend courses and seminars on canine health and fitness, reproduction, veterinary conferences for breeders, handling masterclasses, obedience training seminars, and retriever hunting sport training.

OUR HISTORY

щасливий власник лабрадор ретривера

The kennel’s journey began in 2009 with the arrival of my first Labrador, Una.

Una was a unique dog who became my special antidepressant. Thanks to her, I met incredible people who introduced me to the world of dog shows, and from that moment, my life changed completely. I became deeply passionate about shows and soon aspired to become a handler—a professional who presents dogs in the ring.

I began studying handling and started my career, gradually winning competitions and earning championship titles for dogs both in Ukraine and abroad. Today, my protégés hold prestigious titles such as European Champion, Vice Junior European Champion, Multi-Champions, and Winners of Breed Specialty Shows.

After some time, I developed a desire to get a show-class Labrador puppy. After three years of searching, in 2015, Terra arrived.

Terra is like a whole planet — she has a stunning exterior and a wonderful temperament. From her very first show, she proved herself to be a true competitor, and together, we began conquering the rings, earning championship titles in various countries and winning breed specialty shows.

Beyond the show ring, Terra also trained to confirm her working abilities and successfully passed a field test with excellent results.

The next step was registering my own kennel. In 2016, my FCI-registered kennel “Unterra’s” was officially established, named in honor of my dogs.

In 2020, a long-awaited and joyful event took place—the first litter from my wonderful Terra. Of course, I kept her daughter and gave her the Japanese name “Mirai,” which means “Future.”

With Mirai, a new chapter of our journey began. In addition to dog shows, we actively started training for retriever hunting competitions.

Now, we move forward together, open to new knowledge, adventures, and continuous growth.

RETRIEVER SPORT

From the very first days of having a Labrador in my home, I became interested in preserving the breed’s working abilities—specifically, their hunting skills. Over time, this became an essential part of my journey.

Back in 2010, I started training with Una in bird search work, and little by little, I fell in love with retriever hunting competitions.

When Terra arrived, we began actively training and preparing for waterfowl hunting trials. We started competing, and in time, Terra successfully passed a field test and earned her working certificate.

Unfortunately, during one of our training sessions, Terra suffered a hip joint injury, which prevented her from continuing in competitions and participating in this sport.

With Terra’s daughter, Mirai, I fully immersed myself in retriever sport. Mirai has an incredible, energetic temperament perfectly suited for work.

Despite russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which took away years of our training and the ability to work in our native fields without alarms and shelling, we continue to train and learn abroad with the best coaches!

Together with my friend Anastasiia Volkova, the owner of our partner Golden Retriever kennel “Orions Meadows,” we actively train, prepare for competitions, and attend seminars and trials not only in Ukraine but also across Europe. Additionally, Mirai and I are proud members of the “Fieldway” team.

We have attended and participated in seminars led by renowned trainers and judges, including:

• Martin Incédi (Czech Republic)

• Anja Möller (Germany)

• Frank Hermansen (Norway)

• Maarit Saarinen (Finland)

• Maria Kacsalova (Hungary)

Mirai and I have been fortunate to receive individual training sessions from:

• Maria Kacsalova (Hungary) in 2022 and 2024

• Tatjana Zamorskaja (Estonia) in 2024

• Migle Kaminskaite (Lithuania) in 2024

We have attended competitions in Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, and Hungary, both as participants and spectators.

In 2023, we visited BaltRetCamp, one of the most significant retriever events in the Baltic countries, and in 2024, we proudly participated in the competition.

Mirai has received excellent feedback on her fieldwork from various trainers and has started achieving strong competition results! In Poland, she earned the highest score for one of the tasks from Martin Incédi (Czech Republic).

In 2023, she won 1st place in the Beginner Class at Ukraine’s first official Retriever Working Test, scoring 70 points!

Today, we continue to train intensively, preparing for retriever working tests and competitions, and we are eager to gain even more knowledge in this field!
